How to approach studying?

I’ve just purchased the blue book and have a vocab book coming later.

So I plan to take the SAT this June and in the coming fall for October which will be my last chance to take it.

To approach studying should I take the first practice test in the blue book, score my self, and then check to see what I screwed up? Then repeat this every sunday until the week of the exam?

Also is the English on the SAT considered to be about the same level as the English on the ACT?

Last thing is for the math, on the SAT they basically use the same type of question on each test dealing with the same concept over and over. So if I relearn every concept that is used on each SAT Math it will become very simple?

I found the ACT grammar harder when I took my sample ACT Test (this may be because I was just so used to SAT grammar, so I wouldn’t go 100% on my experience).

As for the Math, I suppose so.

As for the studying, yes, just do the BB, see where you got questions wrong, learn how to lessen those mistakes. Actively learn from your errors.

What subjects are actually covered in math specifically, can anyone tell me them?

Generally basic number theory, basic probability / statistics (nothing that can’t be intuited IMO), algebra (I & II), geometry, and some basic trigonometry.

SAT CR is generally considered pretty difficult, but I found that taking the SAT II English Literature prior to taking the SAT I Reasoning made the SAT I CR feel like a joke, especially since I prepped for the English Lit test using Barron’s.

As for Writing, just learn your grammar rules. Trying to intuit your way through writing generally dooms you since we’ve all become used to speaking English a certain way that violates a number of grammatical rules (especially subjunctive tense, subject-verb agreement, and adverb vs. adjective off the top of my head). And learn how to game the essay, since it doesn’t really test one’s ability to effectively argue a thesis IMO.

For me, i understand the concept of the SAT Math section, it is easy to study concept, but when i took my test for the first time, i got 610 because their questions are tricky sometimes on purpose and can be misread easily. so I use the “5 SAT Math Practice Test” by Paul Simpson. it help a lot because the next time i took the test, i got an 730 on the math section.
