How to avoid 405 S to UCLA? What's local alternative route?

I drive to UCLA, take CA-134, US-101 N and I-405 S/San Diego Fwy.
How to avoid I-405 S? From 101N, how to get in UCLA via local route?
Good map does not offer a feature: avoiding 405

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

What time do you drive? Try looking at Google maps traffic for 101S, exit at Hollywood Blvd, make your way to Sunset Blvd and go west?

I drive by every morning at ~5:30 am… Freeway is busy but moves at that time. :slight_smile:

You can try the Waze app, or leave super early to avoid the traffic and sleep in your car or something when you get to campus. To avoid the 405 you can take Sepulveda or the canyon roads (Coldwater, Benedict Canyon, Beverly Glen) but they tend to get packed too in the morning. Waze should be able to tell you which route is fastest.

Getting off the 101 and taking Sunset is another option but there are a lot of traffic lights along the way. Going through Hollywood and WeHo is a little slow, once you hit BH Sunset should be a little more clear.
