How to beat the ACT time and still do well????

how can u beat the act time contraints and stil be accurate with your answers at the same time? please share some tips u use …thanks

Read Faster and answer more questions right than wrong

Skim the reading for main ideas. Whenever they need more specificity than that they tell you specific lines to read(read the sentence before and after too, they try to show a misleading sentence to catch you sometimes).

Science, just read the questions then go back. It is WAY faster.

Math - have a graphing calculator that you know how to use.

Essay - take an AP class that has a lot of timed essays(Thank you APUSH).

I have to disagree with you DSC on the readings. I find that reading everything will save you time rather than skimming. I agree with you on everything else, especially the science.

Maybe I lucked out then, but I have finished with time remaining both times I’ve taken the ACT, and did very well.

ummm…i agree with dsc. i didn’t read the passages completely. i think that skimming is sufficient. aaand i did surprisingly well when i switched to this technique. oh and on science, most def do not read unless necessary.

I read questions first on science, but I read through all the passages first in reading. I did pretty well on both.

Know your fundamentals, and practice, practice, practice!!!

on the reading, reading everything really saved me time, i promise. however, on science, it’s a lot faster just to look at the questions and then find the answers.
