My school gives letter grades based on a 4.5 system, with no minuses. How can I estimate what my %/100 is? If it matters, I want to apply to the Macaulay Honors Program at Hunter, and the average is a 94.

Well, let’s say your school uses a GPA system out of 4.5. Then you would take either your unweighted or weighted GPA and divide that by 4.5.

Example student:

UW GPA: 4.2/4.5 = 93%
W GPA: 4.4/4.5 = 98%

Hope this helps! =D

no latenight, that makes no sense. by that logic a middle B (I assume a 3.5) would be 3.5/4.5 = .78, and a C a 2.5/4.5 =.56! Definitely not a conventional system for a mid B or C. Going off the traditional 90-100 = A, 80-89 = B system, then calculate your A’s as 95%'s, B’s as 85%'s, and C’s as 75%'s. For your overall GPA, just multiply it by 10 and add 50.

^ Hmm… you have a good point. Then again, I guess it all depends on each individual school’s system. A B might not be a 3.5 for entrancestone’s school - we’ll have to wait and see what she says…

To be honest, I have no idea how my school does the GPA. A+=4.5, A=4.0, B+=3.5, etc. If anyone REALLY wants to help me out, I don’t know my unweighted and weighted GPA out of 4.0 or out of 100%, so I’ll list my grades here:

Thank you so much to anyone who helps!

My school uses an A=4, B=3, C=2, D=1 scale. Just use that, it’s easiest.

4 x (your gpa out of 100 weighted or unweighted) / 100

I’m not really concerned about what is it at my school, I just want to know how MOST colleges will calculate it. If I do it out of 4.0, I get 3.6, and I got 87.7/100. But how do I calculate the weighted classes?

The government should regulate grading systems -_-
