Well, I’m an international student and I thought I would get into some of the better schools with my profile, but I guess not. For some reason, I really don’t want to go to my safety schools… I don’t know if it is because of its ranking or whatever reason but I would rather take a gap year to get scores higher then try for my choices again… or transfer.

So I’ve been researching online and there are some colleges that I am interested in applying, but of which are not that known or close to me, that are on a rolling decision basis and have no deadlines… however, they will only accept you if there is space available.

I was wondering if there is any way to check if there is space available, either by emailing admission officers or calling them up? Or will they just tell me to apply and see (since they want my application fee)? It seems like a waste to me to apply blindsightedly and not be considered because there is no more space… and also having to pay for the fee as well as sending the SAT scores.

Thanks.
