How to choose a major if you are indecisive?

First semester in a CCC. Major right now is Business. I feel like MATH is the only thing stopping me from majoring in this… How difficult is the math? I really want to cry LOL … If math and I don’t work out I might major in communications. I want to work in a business like environment.

What math courses did you have in high school and how well did you do in them?

Business majors commonly need to take calculus (often an easier one for business majors) and introductory statistics.

Most people, regardless of major, work in “a business-like environment.” That’s because most people work at some kind of business - even if that business is a non-profit that functions like a business.

Rather than environment, to pick a career you have to think about what you want to do - what you like to do, what you want to get paid to do every day. What kinds of tasks do you like? What kinds of skills do you want to use? One way to figure that out is through internships, part-time jobs, and other work opportunities.

But you can work in a business with either a business or a communications major. Business majors do need to be able to get through some basic to intermediate math - and as was pointed out often need to take a business calculus class and a basic statistics class.
