Hi everyone! I’m seeking advice on selecting the ideal study abroad destination tailored to my major and background. Could anyone share their experiences in choosing a university based on similar criteria? Additionally, I’d appreciate recommendations for platforms that provide matching assessments. Thanks a lot!
I’m interested in pursuing business management and I’m curious about the typical internships and industries students have experience in, as well as their SAT scores. Does anyone know where I can quickly compare these factors to make an informed decision?
I’m not sure you are barking up the right tree.
-
What year are you in high school?
-
What are your stats?
-
What sorts of colleges are you considering?
-
Have you spoken to any folks who work in this field to get their opinions?
-
Do you have budget constraints?
Have you visited colleges, talked to department chairs? Talked to students on your possible majors?
Not sure what you are looking for here. IIRC, the college board has a college matching thing. You put in your criteria for colleges…IOW, the things you want. It spits out suggestions. Disclaimer…we did this with both of our kids and the colleges they graduated from (which had all the things they wanted) never came up in the search.
And lastly, have you discussed college with your school counselor?
If you are in college already, you should be discussing this with your academic advisor.
@Mwfan1921 @MYOS1634 any suggestions…
Thank you so much for your suggestions! I will definitely ask my academic advisor about this!
Additionally, I’m curious about my chances compared to past applicants and where I could improve. Is there a quick way to do this? My friend suggested AI-powered platforms for this. What do you think?
Chances at which schools?
And we know nothing about you (stats, awards, ECs, location, demographics, etc) to provide any guidance.
“I’m seeking advice on selecting the ideal study abroad destination tailored to my major and background.”
We don’t know what your background is because you haven’t provided that information.
Are you going to Germany and speak German? Are you going to Spain and speak Castillion Spanish? Are you going to France to speak in French. Each College or university needs to make sure that you’re capable of communicating in the country that you plan to arrive in.
Quick to me means you haven’t put any forethought into it.
Do you have a passport that allows you to travel? That’s a big stickler.
We have no idea what your budget is.
These programs have to be paid. An SAT score is not going to pay for that bill.
As my kids would say, “you get what you get and you’re happy with it”.
So if you want half answers here are mine:
Each college or university will tell you if they have a study abroad on their websites and their requirements.
Closing. If the OP wants it re-opened, please respond to my PM. Thanks.
