I am planning the trip for Honors Days on March 30, 2012. Months ago my D received a letter to invite her and parents to visit Pittsburgh. To encourage our visitation, the admission will provide 1 night free hotel accommodation plus $250 stipend. I think I can use these perks one time at any time for any visitations until May 1st. I know that after the trip I can turn in the airline receipt to claim $250, but how do I claim the 1 night hotel?

Hi, parent 1001 - my daughter also will be attending the honors day presentation that day - i dont remember seeing anything about free night or a stipend - but i will look over the mound of papers i have accumulated from potential colleges - and i will ask my daughter when she gets home… in the meantime, if you find out how to get these freebies, please share your info… thx and good luck

I think you contact admissions. I was trying to find my son’s letter but I can’t find it at the moment. We have yet to take advantage of it as we were waiting to hear about the Chancellor’s finalists.

I hope this info isn’t too late for you…
My son and I visited Pitt in November after receiving the same offer from Honor’s College. I remember that the offer could be used until May. An Honor’s College Admissions Counselor actually set up the one free hotel night for us. They chose the hotel. It was under renovation but perfectly fine for the one night and right on campus. We only showed up, Pitt took care of that bill. We handed the same Admissions Counselor our receipt for the plane and a couple of weeks later we received a check in the mail for the full $250 promised.
