How to complete ACT science section in 25 minutes?

is it possible? If yes, how?

Why would you want to complete it in 25 mins? You get 35 mins. Use all 35 mins.
:slight_smile:

25 minutes? No. You literally need every second. Understand that it is a reading and logic test. You can save time sometimes by reading the question and looking at the graphs. Scan the graphs for the main data points. Focus on those. Always narrow it down to two,choices if possible, then guess if you don’t know, You have no time to waste.

yeah, really not possible in 25mins.

@mmk2015 @dota2fan @Lindagaf it was once mentioned in the article abot getting a36on science section by Prepscholar…even I believe it ain’t possible

hahahahahahahaha… My wife and I take the tests on the clock when we receive new ones from our students. We have taught ACT Science for more than a decade each. We BARELY finish in 35 minutes. Again, why finish in 25 minutes… you don’t get to go home any earlier. The ACT isn’t like a video game where you get bonus points for finishing early.

@Ktgisgreat what don’t you think is possible - getting a 36 on science or finishing in 25 minutes? My kid got a 36 on the science section (so its possible) but used every last SECOND to finish. Not sure what the point of the ‘25 minute’ question is.

@midtntutor , you are obviously a good person to ask…can you share a couple of top tips for completing the science section in time?

@suzyQ7 I think completing the section in 25 minutes isn’t possible…surely getting a 36 on science test is possible…
And, I don’t want to complete the section in essentially 25 minutes but when I read from the article, I thought am I doing the section differently…am I the only one wanting every second for the section…I am taking the test in INDIA where few students take the test…*I have to travel 250 miles to the test Centre *…and no one from my city is taking the test so I don’t know how the general paradigms go…
THANKS YOU GUYS, now I know that it is alright…

Practice at home

I finished mine in about 25 minutes, maybe a little less, but I went back and used the rest of the time to double check every answer. I did a lot of practice and would summarize each paragraph in a few words off to the side as I read, underlined key facts and then quickly answered data specific questions. Then I went in and read the more analytical questions and referenced the paragraphs based on my notes. I didn’t get a 36 on science but I did get a 35 :slight_smile: Hope that helped!

Yes, @India1234 , that is the core of the method I have used when tutoring the science section. Good advice.

@India1234 great! Thanks…

I now what to get an ACT test and look at the science section. Will try @India1234 tips.
