How to create programs?

Several days ago, my class was talking about this online poll thing, and I figured out a way to vote more than once. I told my friend about it, and he told me that he could create a macro program to repeatedly carry out an action so that we could multi-vote.

Another day, my teacher talked about organizing a chart filled with tons of data, and the same friend told me that he should tell her that he could write a program that would sort it in whatever way she wanted to.

Now, the voting thing is over, so don’t think I want to try to learn to cheat the system with programs. But I was wondering what my friend was talking about. What program does he use to create these things? Like, there has to be some thing like Greenfoot or BlueJ or whatever to make them. Anyone have an idea? Just an application that creates programs, because I took comp sci and I want to experiment with creating programs that do stuff like this.

idk if this all makes sense, but if it does, please help :)

IIRC, Greenfoot and BlueJ were designed as basic introductions to Java.

you’ve taken comp sci… you should know how to code. but if you’re still talking about greenfoot and blueJ and having other programs program for you, you probably don’t know enough yet. Your friends used whatever development software they used to program in whatever language they used. If you don’t know how to code by yourself, just search for some macro programs that could do it for you, like http://download.cnet.com/Workspace-Macro-Pro-Automation-Edition/3000-2084_4-10307040.html</a>
theres one I can see from an instant google search
