How to Decide if Unable to Visit?

Hi All,

At the moment, I will be unable to visit any of the schools I’ve been accepted to. I’d appreciate any perspectives on various things to consider in making my final decision. I applied to M. Arch (3+) programs. I’d also like to read how some of you decided a program was the best fit for you.

Thanks

b of c, it’s difficult to comment in the abstract because M.Arch programs all achieve the same end, but do so quite differently. My son considered the following points of comparison: cost including financial aid offered, focus either more toward design or structure, name recognition in the geographic areas where he would be most likely to work.

At the end of the day, though, it was the visit that sealed the deal. Seeing the facilities and the work of current students, meeting the professors and current and prospective students made all the difference.

So, I’d try harder to visit. As I remember several of the M.Arch programs provided funding for accepted students to attend information sessions. If it’s money that’s keeping you away, talk to the admissions committee and see if they will help.
