How to decide SCREA/EA/ED?

I think a deferral from schools like Yale and Stanford which reject most and defer a few is useful information

for a place like Harvard that rejects very few,

I would say someone deferred by Yale is likely competitive for Penn or Columbia, and someone rejected by Harvard might not be competitive for Penn or Columbia.

Based on the limited data from our public HS to Harvard, Yale, Princeton and Stanford, I would agree with these observations.

Also we have huge number of ED to Columbia and it seems Columbia denied a lot. All deferred seemed to be competitive applicants.
