When I start in public accounting with a Big Four firm how do I make myself stand out from the other entry-level auditors? How can I get noticed, get promoted, and increase opportunities for other offers later on?

Make your boss look good and make his life easier. Also, try to be the go to guy. Network with people who can vouch for you at your next review.

After 6-12 months on the job, make your interest known that you want to move up and there is a specific position/field you want to transition to.

Have a good attitude, be proactive, and make your seniors/the person doing your reviews’ life as easy as possible. Learn quickly, be on time, always be professional, don’t complain, and make connections throughout the department.

If you want to stay in audit, then this will all work towards moving up the promotional ladder. If you want to move out into industry, then networking becomes huge.
