Hello,
Long story -but basically want to know how to get the smell out.

Had house guests-- they did a few loads of laundry with their stuff …and now this awful stink is in my dryer-- several loads later.

Will a vinegar wash of the filter be enough- any other tricks?
Is it stuck in the lint trap the long tube out the house? Where /what is the odor stuck to?

Maybe wet towels soaked in vinegar? Just a guess. I have severe allergies to those sheets. ARGGG. If someone did this to me, I would not be happy!

The scented dryer sheets can also leave a waxy build-up on your lint screen over time, which will give off the odor. You will need to remove the lint filter and scrub it with a soft bristled brush using detergent and warm water. If you have a dryer rack (intended for drying shoes), put the rag soaked in vinegar on it, rather than getting vinegar residue on the drum itself.

I have awful allergies to that stuff. They washed their laundry and their stuff has stuck to my dryer.
I get sick to my stomach when I smell it. Did a load of towels and was like __ what’s this?
I’ll pull the lint vent -try that. Thanks

If cleaning the lint trap doesn’t do the trick, try putting a heat-proof container of baking soda on top of the dryer rack and running it for an hour or so. The baking soda should absorb the odor over time.

Put a charcoal absorber in the dryer, but DO NOT RUN the dryer with it. Let it sit in there while the dryer is not in use. I’m sorry this happened to you - I detest the smell of these scented sheets.

Actually, I detest the smell of all sorts of things, dryer sheets among them – lotion, detergent, shampoo, deodorant. I use unscented at every possible opportunity.
