Hi,

I was dropped from a class due to scheduling conflict, I’ve already been accepted to a college and I have already committed. Do I just send a handwritten letter, like how would I format it?

E.G.

To x college,

I am happy to be admitted and look forward to the experience; anyway due to scheduling conflict I am unable to take AP (class) this spring semester, however I still intend to take the AP test and have a tutor helping me prepare for the test…

I don’t really know how to format it and the best explanation. Any help from the eloquent would be greatly appreciated :)

…; unfortunately, because of a schedule conflict, I will not be able to take the second semester of ( name class). I plan to self study and work with a tutor the remainder of the year and will take the AP test as I really enjoy the subject.

My son dropped a class and he sent a typed letter to admissions.

“Unfortunately due to a schedule conflict, I am not able to enroll in AP X this semester. This has been replaced in my schedule by Y.”

There is no need to say that you plan to take the AP. That exam only matters if you hope to do well enough on it to get credit once you have enrolled. Taking the exam (or not), or any score you might get on it, will not affect the status of your admission.

Thanks!!!

Also, should it be handwritten or typed?

bump

Even just an email would do. But if you want to send it on paper, either handwritten or typed would be OK.
