I am trying to develop a list of stores for the grandparents that offer electric scooters for shopping. I know a few that do. I was wondering of there is a way to search for others that we don’t use now but would be willing to switch to.

Looking online at the individual store sites hasn’t helped. Searching for “stores that offer scooters for shoppers” is giving me stores that sell scooters. Is there a forum that might be helpful?

Thank you!

I’ve noticed that frequently the scooters in the supermarket and Target are not charged, or the seats are so dirty I wouldn’t sit on them. In the winter months when there are more broken legs they seem to be better maintained.

I’ve noticed a new type of walker around town (Walgreen and Kroger have it) that includes a seat to rest - I’ve seen some people with very limited mobility getting around well with frequent rest steps - they also collapse to be taken on a plane.

I would call your major local supplier of medical equipment for a list of stores.

Try K-mart.

When I broke my leg, they were very helpful. They had wheelchairs with shopping baskets attached, which I really liked (although you do have to watch out for people who don’t notice you because you’re low-profile). I think they had scooters, too.

They even offered a place where you could check your crutches or walker while using their contraptions. That’s a good idea!

Thanks! I will talk to our local home health supplier and see if they have info, unfortunately the local Kmart closed.

Calling around I found that our grocery store, Sprouts, Target and Costco all do have power scooters to use.
