How to get a 2400 on the New SAT

Hello I am currently a homeschool student in the 9th grade. I have heard that SAT scores are weight much more for homeschoolers in Ivy League admissions, and admissions in general.

I have been studying a lot since the start of 9th grade, and hope to get a 2400 SAT. DO YOU HAVE ANY TIP, ON HOW TO GET A 2400.

You can only get a 1600 on the new SAT, it does not go to 2400 any more. In general, it is easier to study for the math portion of the SAT – the same concepts tend to be tested, so it is a more fixed set of information to study. Students who do well on the reading/writing sections tend to be big readers – reading a lot helps build your vocabulary and your comprehension, which is key to success there.

Get prep books and study them, take practice tests and figure out what you did wrong on every problem you miss or can’t do. But you should not even take the test until you are a junior. If you think you will have a high score, you should look into taking the PSAT fall of 11th grade. It helps you quality for the national merit scholarship program. Most 11th graders in regular schools have it arranged by and take it at their schools. I don’t know how home schooled students do it, but you will want to research that. It is also good practice for the SAT.

Top colleges often like to see SAT subject test scores from home schooled students, too. So that is also something you should look into.

You don’t…the max you can get now is a 1600.

Assuming you mean 1600, my tip is this: get all the questions right.

There is also Khan Academy to help prep.
