how different are college courses at uci compared to a typical ap class at high school? any harder? more time needed to study? and are there any tips on how to get a high gpa in general? and is business information management a difficult major to get a good gpa? thanks for any replies. God bless.

Yeah, just put in the work to study, do go through all the homework even if it’s not a requirement, and going to office hours = high GPA. If this still doesn’t help with catching up/getting ahead, then take tutoring at LARC or something else and hope for the best. Oh, and yeah, just don’t go about ditching class or any of that and boom, success.

Yeah, time management is key and just putting in the effort to study. If you’re already looking to get a high gpa, that’s already good, cus self-motivation is important.

I would think a “typical” AP class would require less work than college. I think a lot about college though is knowing how to time manage, especially your first year and even more so if you’re living in the dorms.

I liked to take easier GEs… I think that obviously helps because you have less stress and less of a workload each quarter so you can focus on and have time for your harder classes.

I would say some BIM classes can be very hard / time consuming if you’re not good on the tech side. I don’t exactly know how difficult it is though. I just know a lot of my friends had to stay up all night to do projects for those ICS courses.

Oh, simple advice, but be sure to read the syllabus for how the teacher grades, exam dates, and what not. Some professors may still baby students and remind each student when homework is due and what not, but some don’t!

Almost no homework in college so your effort is based entirely on self motivation. If you want to do well you have to want it. It’s easy to just go out and hang out with friends everyday but takes another level of effort to stay on top of your work and get A’s

P.s bim classes are a easy especially the management core classes. The only difficult thing might be the comp sci classes if your not too familiar or adept at programming
