How to get a taxi-cab

What’s the best way to have a taxi come by my dorm (Jester)? Do I call the company, or can I go up to the front office and have them call one for me? If there’s a certain place where taxi’s usually frequent that would also be nice to know.

Is it just me, or the longer you stare at the word “taxi” the weirder it looks?

Call. I have Yellow Cab in my cell phone just in case. (You can also request a non-smoking car and/or a driver that takes credit cards.)

The 3 cab companies are yellow, lone star, and austin cab. If you’re going downtown, there are bus routes via e-bus or capital metro that have stops around campus and the surrounding area. If you’re going from the airport, there is shuttle, capital metro, or taxi. The cabs are usually busy on friday and saturday nights due to volume of people (also any other time you’d expect them to be busy) and it can be difficult to get a cab from downtown at the end of nights 2a.m.). Some people have particular driver’s that they contact that work at the cab companies so that they do not have to deal with the hassle of finding a cab after downtown.

haha I’m heading quite the opposite direction actually. I’m trying to get to West 39th street, around where Seton Hospital is.

39th street isnt that far. You could have taken a bus.
