How to get Bball tickeys for family day?

Not too long ago parents got a message saying they should get their kids to “stand in line” for tickets for a demonstration basketball game during family weekend, Oct 23. Today my D says that won’t be easy. Apparently line starts to form on west campus in the early ( 3 or 4?) AM. How does one get over there at that hour? Will it be safe? What happens if you show up after the shuttle starts running in the AM? She thinks she might still be standing on line when her class begins at 10 AM. Any thoughts or suggestions? Her little brother is fairly invested in going to the game, especially since he is missing playing in his high school homecoming game to go.

Shrinkrap,
Did your daughter get the tickets? My son texted me at 9 this morning that he got the tickets but I am not sure when he got in line but he made it to his 10:00 class. Good luck to you
Does anyone know what time the game is?

She DID get the tickets! I think it may be one of her proudest moments so far!

great! See you at the game! Do you know what time it is?

No…don’t even know what day, now that you mention it!

If you are talking about the Parent weekend game, it’s Saturday Oct 25 at a time that is yet to be announced according to the goduke.com website

You don’t have to get in line as early as 4 or 5 in the morning. Some students got the tickets as late as eleven. The earlier you get the tickets does not give you any better seats than those who get them later. Hope this helps for the future concerning exhibition games.

I think that WILL help future parents families. So is it referred to as parents or family weekend?

I just noticed the newsletter called it "Parents and Family Weekend "… Might help with future searches!

Unfortunately this is not the case always…my son DID get tickets at 11pm, but the one he got for his validated seat was in an “overflow area” in the seats, not bleacher, above and behind the basket. Ours were on the opposite end of the court in seats in the corner. Those who got there early enough I believe got gen admission tix to sit in bleacher seats (with their parents, I believe)

Tenortwelve, sorry to hear you won’t be sitting as a family! (is he? smile…). He got his at 11 PM? How long did this ticketing go on? These are assigned seats?
