How to get from 2030 to 2300+?

I took the November SAT and got 2030(690M+680CR+660W with 8 essay)
I will retake it in January and I am trying to aim for 2300+.
How can I achieve this in 2 months?
All suggestions appreciated.

Thanks in advance

With dedication and hard work. Read the threads that already exist. Especially the thread by Xiggi.

You can achieve this in 2 months. I went from 2100 to 2300 in a little over one month. The Blue Book (the SAT study guide by College Board itself) is going to be your life saver. Read the entire book - the actual “tips and advice” section is short, and the rest of the book is practice tests. There are 10. Take them one at a time - I did two every weekend. Time yourself appropriately on the sections. During the test, circle questions that you aren’t sure about. Circle questions where you were stuck between 2 or 3 answers. Circle math questions if you aren’t sure you’re using the best method to find the answer. Circle anything uncertain and then go back at the end and go over every circled question PLUS every question you got wrong.

It sounds like a lot of work but it really isn’t. Eventually you will get much faster at the test and be able to finish a section in 10-15 minutes instead of 20-25. You won’t get as many wrong so you’ll have less to go over. But the most important part of taking practice tests is reviewing what you didn’t know and why you didn’t know it.

You’ll probably have to add to this study plan based on what you need. For me, vocab in the CR section was a killer, so I found a bunch of SAT vocab online and studied them in chunks every day until I knew them all. In the end, I only recognized about four or five of them on the actual test. But it was worth it to study hundreds of vocab words for those few questions, because I got an 800 on CR in the end!

This is just my super-condensed advice. Please read the other threads here, and look at the “How to get an 800 on [SAT section]” articles on PrepScholar. You might not be aiming for a perfect 800 on every section but the tips will definitely get you close.

Good luck!

^ I completely agree. The blue book helped me so much(2300+) as well. It also relieves anxiety because it is made by the makers of the SAT(College Bard) and gives you a format to expect for the test.

Good luck!
