How to get get night's sleep before the test?

The importance of sufficient sleep before the test can never be overemphasized.
Unfortunately, for me I am unable to sleep well. Although well prepared and confident about the test, I am always thinking about one thing or the other while in bed. Please advise me.

Tire yourself out during the day.

Take a melatonin supplement. When you’re stressed, you make less melatonin, and your body has the most melatonin in deep sleep. If you take it for 20 - 45 minutes, it can help with chronic stress sleeplessness (e.x. you can’t fall asleep b/c you’re thinking about other stuff).

I read somewhere that you should continue ur pattern. For example, if you’re used to like 7 hours of sleep, but get like 10 or something the night before, your body might feel weird from this sudden boost in hours of speed.

I disagree. Sleep before tests as being important is overrated. The second time I took the SATs I got less sleep than the first time (probably around 2 hours or so) yet managed to do better.

Isn’t Melatonin supplement harmful? I mean does have any serious side effects?

Melatonin is a hormone produced by the body naturally. If you take a supplement at night, you’ll fall asleep easier and stay asleep a little longer (I get no more than another hour of sleep; I need it to fall asleep and stay asleep throughout the night, so I don’t wake up during the night).

You’ll feel tired after you take it (the point), and it’ll be easier for you to sleep. I f you take it during the day, you will be dopey. Otherwise, it’s very safe. Melatonin is used by the body to regulate sleep, and taking a supplement just counteracting the lower production of your body while you are stressed.
