is there a way to get hot water besides sneaking in a water boiler? like can I get from b cafe or something?

you can get a microwaveable mug/thermos/something and use the microwave downstairs. at least, there’s one in rieber hall, so i’m going to assume that there are others else where.

not in rieber terrace. i wonder why they don’t put it there. u could steal someone’s microwave or get one urself too hehe.

just sneak in a water boiler

uhh water boiler…

i tried microwave before but it doesn’t work very well with making hot tea…

What microwave do you have. You need the waver 2000x90z extreme. Its the hottest microwave on the market! Boil 10 gallons of water in 3 days flat, yeah amazing huh.

Go for the water boiler. Why are you against it? I had one under my bed for the longest time. Fisco’s idea is very legit. Me and my roommate found out that the best way to hide stuff is to keep it in PLAIN VIEW but have something old and boring over it. We had a cardboard box with “stuff” and we just threw what seemed to everyone like dirty laundry on top of it. Now who would ever suspect anything under a very very boring old pile of dirty laundry.

Dildo might not work if you have a lot of kinky friends.

oh im not against water boilers it is just taking more space lol im living in sproul next year and need all the space I get since im on the top bunk (same roommates) I had the microfridge thingy and the microwave sucked… im not really afraid of having a water boiler besides the fact i don’t know where would be the best place to put it, and hopefully i’ll get a cool RA next year that doesn’t care about that stuff, my RA this year didn’t, she saw we had empty beer bottles and we just said it was for a project and she left us alone lol

a water boiler/kettle/whatever you call it doesn’t take up that much space…i have one that’s, i dunno, 8" across? takes 2-3 min to boil water, without superheating. what more do you want?

haha what the heck. this is the water boiler i (and many other asians) own.

about $10 in korea town and really doesn’t take up much space.

water boilers are tiny man…just bring one

If you need the water for tea, then forget a microwave (at least def not the microfridge ones). I literally couldn’t drink the tea when made that way. However, I had many suitemates successful in boiling microwave water and being able to cook things like pasta, you just have to make sure you have the right objects to cook things in.

But still, if you want anything of decent quality sneak in the boiler. There are like a billion places to hide it during inspection time. I mean, you may worry that your RA will stop by at any time, but honestly this last year my roomies and I never talked to our RA and we got away with a pet hamster for the whole year. ;)

Dildo would not work if I were your room inspector. creepy laugh

Just get the water boiler.

Tips on keeping a hamster? My roomie and I really wanted to do that.

Hamsters in the dorms kinda fail. The 6 of us were really excited about getting her but after awhile it was like “Is Treffy dead yet?”.

Er, well, I mean, they are a bit of work. You have to clean the cages or it’ll smell, and remember to feed them and change the water. Not really that bad actually. But I don’t recommend getting one unless you have a bathroom to keep them in because 1. they tend to be awake in the middle of the night and the spinning of the wheel can get pretty annoying 2. the smell 3. it’s less likely an RA dropping by will go in your bathroom and 4. it’d be really hard to clean out the cage in a public bathroom, you know?

But if it’s a shared bathroom and not private you have to make sure your suitees are okay with it. Our two rooms were all filled with my friends so it didn’t matter. But if you have a shared and don’t know the other room, it might be a problem. Mostly because the cage takes up quite a bit of counter space.

Also you have to remember once a week when cleaning comes to move her to your bedroom. Under the desk works fine, but if you know you never have any RAs visit you then just on the floor/on a desk works fine for the day.

Last thing to keep in mind is vacations. Make sure one of the owners lives in SoCal and has family willing to keep the hamster over breaks. We usually just threw a jacket or towel over her cage when we had to take her out of the dorms to cars. It’s not really that bad.

If you have any more questions on hamsters in the dorms, just let me know.

friend had her hamsters in her room the whole year. she had a big cage, enough for both of them. they mostly stayed under the bed with a blanket acting as a curtain for under her bed. she occasionally moved them to the bathroom under the sink at night because they’d make too much noise when running on their treadmill wheel.

but yeah, i’m sure fiddledd gave more info lol.

oh and dogs are the hardest…

i think. unless you sneak in a lion or a penguin.

If pink is your inspector, keep a dozen extra dildos. Bribe her with them.

we got… notices for the microwave all the time, just pushed it in a closet for a few weeks and we were set. They’re a bit stricter in RT… maybe. As for tea kickserve, it worked fine for me, 3 minutes for a cup and it came out perfect.

If you really wanna save space, you can always buy a mini hot water heater from amazon. It’s basically a metal stick that you submerge in water. Plug the cord in and wait for the water to boil. Just remember to unplug it when you’re done. Since it’s so small, you can just put in your desk drawer. I mainly used mine for cup o noodles and occasional tea.

wow thats a great idea… and i’ll look like the dildos that pink likes hahahaha
