depends on which school. usually, a love letter makes a big difference. if it is possible, give them a reason to choose you
@khanam I’m thinking of writing an essay of how I would improve their college. Do you think this is a good idea? Also, I have 2 B’s in my second semester and I am usually a straight A student and this might look really bad on me
A couple of Bs are not going to make or break the case if they are in rigorous AP/IB curriculum. Also, it is not the grades that will matter as much as communicating genuine interest and passion for the college. An essay which highlights anything unique about you will also help. Some schools appreciate very personal letters that make them pay attention to you. Others might not respond as much. If it is an LAC they are typically looking for a personality trait that is appealing/passion/interest more than a big U. Thats why i was asking which college.
