When my son was 12ish, air rifles were a big thing among the kids here. It lasted a couple years and that’s about it. He has 2 air rifles. It’s amazing how much they look like real weapons.
I d like to just get rid of them. I’ve read you can’t sell them on eBay as they are considered a weapon. I’m just tempted to put them in the trash.
Did any of your kids play with those and what did you end up doing with them?
Does your high school have a rifle club? Would they use them?
Call your local police precinct and ask.
We have a ton of air rifles and airsoft pistols as my sons all did paintball and Boy Scout shooting activities over the years. They are in our safe right now. Oldest son has sold and bought some over the past couple of years (he is 28) and mainly makes contacts through online forums of people who play the games.
Good ideas! I will check them out. Our HS does have a rifle team.
We had a lot of various guns we needed to sell when executor of a will. We sold them to a pawn shop that was legit.
Might check there if they will buy them.
We had a BB gun that I wanted to get rid of. I took it to the local police station. But this was years ago. You might call and ask if you can bring the air rifle in.
My son has a couple, but doesn’t get to use them much; they are sitting around. Does your city/area have any airsort or paintball parks? I bet they would take them, and they would end up in the hands of people who are knowledgeable with the rules.
