how to get rid of an old SAT score...

So I recently took the sat bio, 770 yay!, but when I checked my scores I saw this old SAT lurking that I took in the summer before freshman year. I thought they got rid of those? the grade says 12 but it should have read 8 because I am in eleventh grade now… What can I do to get rid of this?

Don’t worry about it, colleges only care about the highest score.

If the year of the test is listed (which it should be) then colleges will totally ignore it since it was for a talent identification program.

but I don’t plan on retaking the SAT, I got a perfect ACT so I was planning on doing that and sat subject tests

Do any of the schools you’re looking at require all testing history? Have you heard of Score Choice?

@bodangles Almost all of my top schools require all testing. Is there a way to contest the grade that I took it in? I clearly wasn’t in grade 12

That sucks. Yes, I would call whatever number you can find for CollegeBoard/SAT issues and tell them of the discrepancy.

Is “12” the year it was taken, ie, 2012?

@HRSMom no, it says I took it in grade 12, as a senior but it was right before the summer between 8 and 9.

That’s weird. I guess even they make mistakes!

Keep it. There is NO proof that colleges will look down at you (even reject you) because you have gotten a lower score before/after. Why, you could get a 2400 through superscoring by taking the SAT 10 times!
