Is it possible to get from 1540 to 1600 on the new SAT? D got 1540 on the first try, wants to try again in November.
Any ideas? Any textbooks? She got all currently released SAT tests, but there are not that many of them. Any other ideas?
@californiaaa at that point, it is probably not worth investing much effort in preparing. A 1540 is already a competitive score for the vast majority of schools, and a 1600 won’t provide significant advantage over a 1540.
A better idea for her might be to take SAT subject tests if she hasn’t already, or focus on other parts of the application.
I agree with @MITer94 . A 1540 is an amazing score, and she should really focus on different parts of her application. For example, essay or subject tests.
