How to higher my GPA?

So I’m really striving to go to John Hopkins University and I am going to junior year next year. Currently I have a cumulative GPA of a 3.75 and my class rank is in the top 4% of my class. Is it possible that if I get straight A’s next year it would higher my GPA to a 3.8? And is an 3.8 good enough for John Hopkins? I know other things are important on the application but I just want to know if my GPA fits in their admissions.

Lets see:

Freshman GPA: 3.75

Sophmore GPA: 3.75

Junior GPA: 4.00

Average GPA: 11.5/3 = 3.83

So yes you can get above a 3.8

Google the Common Data Set for Johns Hopkins and scroll down to Section C for the stats of the admitted student body last year. That’s the best way to chance yourself.

Actually, if you go by semesters because colleges won’t have spring semester grades at application time:

6 semesters * 3.75 = 22.50
1 semester * 4.0 = 4.0
7 semesters = 26.50
Average GPA = 26.50 / 7 = 3.79

“higher my GPA”?

@SlackerMomMD Nope, that’s wrong. OP is going into junior year not senior year. So the math would be :

4 semesters (fish and soph)* 3.75 = 15

2 semesters (junior)* 4= 8

After junior year= 23/6 = 3.83

Extrapolating further, a 4.00 in the 1st semester of senior year would be 27/7 which equals a final GPA of 3.86

oops. .my mistake. I should have read it more closely
