How to improve my less-than-stellar ECs?

What do you think top-tier schools (I want to go to Duke) will think of my ECs? I go to a tiny private school where there are few options in clubs and organizations. I don’t have tons of opportunities, but I’m not sure I’ve made the most of all of the ones I’ve had.

I acted in the annual musical in 9th and 10th Grade.
Every Wednesday afternoon of 9th and 10th grade I took Mandarin classes.
I was a member of the Environmental Club in 9th and 10th grade.
I did both Model UN and Mock Trial in 10th grade.
I was in the Beta Club 10th grade and did several volunteer projects.
I was inducted into the International Thespian Society in 10th grade.

What can I do to improve? My ECs aren’t very focused and I haven’t ever had any leadership positions. But I’m going to try to step up to the plate Junior year. I love the Environmental Club and will run for a leadership position. I’ll probably do the same for ITS.
What are your thoughts on how I cam improve?

It’s always better to seek out things beyond the confines of your school. Theater is obviously a passion for you. Are there any local theater companies where you could intern or perform in shows?

Our town has a small theater. I’ve considered doing stuff there before, but I’ve heard lots of bad things about doing local theater.

from where???

Both my uncles are heavily involved in theater. They talk about issues with directors, budget issues, dealing with egos, and how drugs are prevalent. Obviously, this is not true of all community theaters, but I’m not sure it’s worth all the trouble.
