So I took a diagnostic test yesterday on the SparkNotes Test Prep Site and received a score of 1740. I did the practice test without a calculator and without any previous studying.
Here are my section scores:
Critical Reading:590
Math:510
Writing:640

Obviously I could use improvement in all arears but I really need help with math. I am aiming for a 2200+.
Please help

read first post of Xiggi’s method.

For math, I find the best thing to do is to get hold of as many SAT tests as you can get. Focus on one section at a time, begin on your weakest section (in your case math). Don’t worry about the time first. Do each question slowly, ponder over words. Check your answers afterward. For every question you get wrong understand WHY you got the wrong answer - don’t be lazy! The questions do not change much from test to test, really. I got a 790 on my first test and 800 on the second.

Thank you that was really helpful
