<p>My son got 630 CR twice. He got a 4 on the AP English Language and Composition exam. He also got over 700 on the Literature SAT II. I’d suggest you do both - study the Direct Hits book and other things listed on this site, but also look at taking other tests that show your abilities in language arts and English.</p>
<p>for the vocabulary, write your own sentence completion questions. try and learn at least one new word every day or two. also, crossing out wrong answers helps a lot.</p>
<p>It sounds like timing is an issue. to alleviate (SAT word there :D) this problem, take TIMED practice tests. the whole thing. it takes up time and gets really boring, but trust me, it helps a lot with being under time pressure</p>
