<p>I think vocabulary is a big problem for students whose first language is not English . Many ways have been mentioned to solve the problem . We can follow word lists like barron but it is too inefficiencial to remember them . We also can learn words while we’re reading , but if we look up words in a dictionary while reading , it takes us lot of time to look up words and we can not read books well . So how can we improve our vocabulary in a better way ?</p>

<p>Have you tried to use flashcards? If you have android smartphone you can install flashcards app and you can study on the go.</p>
<p>You can’t escape the traditional ways. Flashcards, reading books, writing sentences with those words… You will have to sit and go through them every single day… look up quizlet com. I also get bored going through flashcards and feel reluctant to look up the words while reading because I don’t want to interrupt myself. But I remind myself of my goal and push myself to go on. You can’t achieve anything without putting effort in it. Just remember that if you don’t work for it, you don’t get the reward. Work hard now and be happy and relaxed later :)</p>
<p>Make flash cards. Study them. Put the words you know in one pile and the words you don’t know in another. Then study the words you don’t know until you know it.</p>

<p>I had to go through Direct Hits for more than 10 times to memorize it fully.
Then I used a couple of words from The Essential 300 words.
Try using these both books. They’re really helpful.
As for the dictionary thing, use online dictionaries where you just type in the word and the meaning pops up, instead of searching for every word in a 1000 page dictionary.
