I took the January SAT for the first time and got a 2150(680M, 680CR, 780W with 12 essay). My technique so far has been focused on doing practice tests and reviewing my mistakes. So now when it comes to actual ‘studying’ for the test, I’m clueless. I just did a couple of vocabulary words from DH and some math problems from Barrons. Which books should I use for maths and CR? Any tips? Thank you!
Pwn the SAT Math is the best
Barrons math is fine. Just don’t use McGraw Hill. I think the author never get 800 in Math section.
Agree with the PWN the SAT suggestion; disagree strongly with the Barrons suggestion. Other options are something by Dr. Steve Warner (he has many good prep books) or The New Math Sat Game Plan by Philip Keller.
For CR, The Critical Reader by Erica Meltzer is excellent. There’s also some very good advice on the SAT Prep sub-forum available for free.
Thank you! I will try using PWN the SAT and The Critical Reader.
