How to jump 200+ for Math in 2 months?

My latest score was 390. Possible or impossible?

definitely possible!!! my SAT math score went up by 250ish points just practice and review your mistakes and get a math book off of Amazon

My score went from 460-480 on practice tests to 640-680 range. If you have the Blue Book. Go to one of the practice tests you have not done (Preferably the 1st 3) and take the 3 Math Sections UNTIMED. Go here www.collegeboard.com/html/satstudyguide/ and enter your answers for the Math Sections you have done and score it.

Click on View Report then Item type. It will break down your performance by the Math concepts. Once you have identified your lowest area, go to the bluebook, read and take note. Review the test that you just did and see what you did the wrong Repeat for all sections.

In order for you to score a 390, I’m guessing that you had a lot more incorrect answers than correct answers. Try to answer questions that you are absolutely sure you know the answers to or have eliminated at least 3 other incorrect answers. For every 3-4 questions, you get wrong your score drops by about 10 points! For every question, you get right your score increases by about 10 points.

Most importantly practice practice and practice. It took me at least 8 Math Practice tests before my score cleared the 400s range. The more you take practice tests the better you understand the test and feel confident on test day.

You can also use the quizzes and practice tests from the College Board Official SAT online course for additional official practice. There are answer explanations for all the questions.

Students in this range jump up all the time - definitely possible. In fact, there is one easy thing you can do for a quick boost: go MUCH slower. Until you are consistently scoring closer to 600, there is no reason to answer anything beyond the first 2/3 of any section (or subsection: 1 - 5 or 6 in the 18 question section). Just use all of your time to stubbornly read, think and play. And then take your best shot at those easy and medium questions.

Seriously, I have given this advice to hundreds of students who then saw their scores take a quick jump. And I have posted it here many times. It is the low-hanging fruit of SAT prep…grab it!
