How to jump from 1190 to 1900

I know it’s a big jump but I’m willing to work harder than I did before. However I’m a big procrastinator and will have to study without the the blue book for a while. I will be taking the one in October and like some free sites/blog , or app suggestions to brush up on my grammar and math skills. Also I’m awful at placing time for studying.

You are asking to go from the lowest fifth to the upper fifth.

That’s the 17th percentile to the 90th percentile. Is there some reason you didn’t “work hard” the first time around?

I didn’t prepare. First time I just took it to see how it was like, second time didn’t study or practiced either. But I printed out suffixes, prefixes, common vocab, and trying to study the grammar and math part. Maybe 1900 isn’t realistic and I should probably aim at 1500 or 1600 at most. But 1900 is possible.

Go and find sat past tests on Google, it is pretty easy to find them, I mean it has the same difficulty as finding this forum. Anyway, check your score report and see where are you weaknesses. Don’t do practice tests like crazy, tho. Do it wisely and don’t be a lazy butt.

From CR+M score to the composite of all 3 sections. Other than that, it is almost impossible, at least within a year or two. In addition, even if you can make that improvement, you have to show that gradually or your score will be likely suspended.

For CR: Find common SAT vocab lists online and work on memorizing as many words as you can. Quiz yourself on them everyday so you don’t forget any. For the reading passages, do lots of practice on them and make sure you check your answers when you are done! With practice you will be able to understand what kinds of answers the SAT looks for and how to find them.
For Math: Practice! Do lots of practice questions and if there are topics you are unaware of or don’t know well, learn them, go over them, and do more practice questions. If you don’t know how to do a question or get something wrong, make sure you learn and understand the right way.
For Writing: Go over grammar rules!!! These can be found online (google SAT grammar rules) or in SAT books (Princeton Review is my favorite.)

Overall, just do a lot of practice (take a LOT of timed practice SAT tests) and make sure you review your answers so you see what you got wrong. Good luck!

Thank you. Very helpful tips.
