the one that is better is the one that you will enjoy spending 4 years of your time at the most and have the best possibility of getting the highest GPA.

Please do not chose your undergrad based on where you want to go to grad school, Things change SO SO SO much while you are in undergrad and plans and goals all change so enjoy your undergrad for what it is.

Thank you crazykumar and Malishka31 for your advice.

To kenf1234 : Engineering Science is UCB’s undergraduate program, similar to Applied Science. See following link for details - [Berkeley College of Engineering - Engineering Science](Engineering Science)

Berkeley is much more prestigious in engineering in general and computer science in particular. It’s worth $7,500 extra per year to get a degree from Berkeley in computer science, just in monetary terms. If you really want to go to Davis, though, I’m sure if you do very well at Davis you can go on to grad school. If money is the main advantage of Davis, I would go into debt and go to Berkeley, it is worth it money-wise.

Note, I usually tell people to follow the money, but in this case, I really think it is woth the investment in Berkeley.

Not only money issue, but Regents Scholar honor as well. At UCB, Regents awards $1000. There can be 7.5 times as many Regents Scholars in UCB as in Davis(another cause may be UCB has less funds). Another campus, UCLA Regents gives $5500. It looks comparable for Regents Scholars at different UC campus, although not exactly as the amounts show.
