Say I’ve been an active day trader for all of my high school years, and made a small fortune for myself.

I’ve already mentioned this in my common app essay so should I still report it as an extracurricular activity?

and I’m not applying to Wharton

if you are not applying to Wharton, I don’t see the direct tie or relevance beyond just being smart, which you will have to be to get in Penn… not sure how you incorporate that in your resume … but would include it nonetheless

Just put it in the “Additional Info” at the end of the common app

alright, thanks for the input guys!

Actually, I’m not sure that’s really an honor… penn is used to people who invest, not trade… it may count as negative for you ^.^

Ok maybe i’m joking but still…

lol

I participated in both day trading and investing… but I figured day trading would be more appropriate
because I never invested in a company for longer than a couple months at a time

My bad, I assumed the wrong definition for day trader.

used my investment experience to make a rather strong essay. (and note: I said investment, not day trading)

yeah I also incorporated my investing experience into my common app essay…

hopefully enough to get me noticed.

Which school you applying to necrophiliac?

I’m a current Wharton freshman

ohhh lol (and congratulations!, hopefully I’ll see ya there next year xD)

If you have the time, would you mind looking at my essay?
