<p>live in WA for at least a year.</p>
<p>basically, that’s all you can do</p>
<p>Not only live there, but work there and pay taxes. Don’t let your parents in CA claim you as a dependent.</p>
<p>If you really want to do this, don’t plan on attending a state school in WA for at least 2 years. You will have to live there for a minimum of 12 months (without attending college during that time) and get a job, a WA driver’s license, a WA bank account, etc. You also have to prove that your parents did not claim you as a dependent on their tax return for one year prior to your move.</p>
