I am preparing to take the the accuplacer to skip precalc and test into Calculus I. I go to Pikes Peak Community College, and I believe that the accuplacer is called the TCDI. I took college algebra and got an A in the class, and I have been studying Trigonometry separately in my own time. I have to get an 82% on this placement test to get into Calc I, and I want to make sure that I have prepared for it properly. If anyone else has taken this or a similar accuplacer, can you please answer the following questions: 1. Does this test just test knowledge of precalculus, or does it require existing knowledge in calculus I as well? Also, what are some good places to visit online to prepare for this test?
I guess I’ll answer the question myself since I just took it and got 95%. It was only 19 questions long but took me 3 hours to complete. About half of it was trig based. All I did was googled an open source precalculus textbook and spent all day studying for two weeks straight.
