Without expecting it, I bombed the psat writing section. How do I study for the sat writing section? Is meltzer’s book good? What others could you recommend? Thanks a lot!

For MC- meltzer’s with the 8 tests.

For essay- stored evidence, basic outline, tons of practice

Definitely Ms. Meltzer’s book. For the essay, I suggest PWN THE SAT WRITING GUIDE. these will assure that you understand how to get 750+. Imo, writing is the easiest section to improve and study for. Be sure to practice lots. Good luck!

Concerning the MC, learn the grammar rules listed in sparknotes & go to academichacker’s thread on grammar. From there practice, practice, &practice with CB tests.

Regarding the essay, learn 4-5 universal examples like Abe Lincoln,FDR, Nelson mandela, harriet Tubman, cesar chavez etc… make sure they cover the essay archetypes (e.g. success, dedication, collaboration, creativity, power, tradition etc.). Also, memorize specific details for each universal example, preferably 5-6 detailed sentences which you can look up on Wikipedia or whatever, so when you write your essay, the only thing you got to think of when writing the essay is the personal input (sentence that ties back to thesis ). You’ll be able to write 2 pages in under 20 minutes once you get the hang of this
