How to prepare Long-Term for SATs?

I’m a freshman in highschool right now, and I want to start some “light, everyday” preparation for the P/SATs.
I’ve started learning around 20-30 new vocabulary words every day(only takes me around 20 min. max.), and doing the SAT Question of the Day from the CollegeBoard website.

Math/Writing comes easily to me, and there’s plenty of time to prepare, so I don’t think that’ll be too much of a problem.

The only section I’m concerned with in the future is the critical reading/ grammar type sections. I’m a little weak on reading comprehension, as well as grammar rules. I started to read classics/more challenging books starting last year, and I (hope) my reading level is improving.

Is there anything I could do to improve some of these skills?

I think you are on the right track.

Read the newspaper. You can read the NY Times on line although it does limit you to ten articles/month.

Testive is a prep site that used to allow users to answer ten questions/day but I haven’t looked at it in a while.

I believe you can download a free practice SAT from the College Board site, in case you would like to get a look at the test, but the reading you are doing now will help greatly.

Build up your vocab. This is the part taking the longest time to improve.
