My freshman daughter bought a textbook for $300 new then fairly soon dropped the class and never opened the book. I’d like to try to sell it. Can anyone advise me how to place a price on it and any sites that I could post it on?

I would sell at least at 2/3 of original price. However, you have to look at how others sell the same price. Then, you can adjust it.
Search eBay, refining your search to look only at the sold listings.
