Has anybody read this book? I just started. She is the host of “Getting in” podcast (about college admission) and am learning a lot. Hope it is not too late to learn how to raise an adult.
I bought it & started it – need to keep readying it for sure!
I am OBSESSED with this book! It is fantastic. I wish I could make it required reading for all the people in my life. 
It looks like a good book and one I would have read when the boys were younger. I probably needed it. At least 3 years ago, maybe more, someone put a link to an on-line quiz to determine if you were a helicopter parent or not…my result was that I might need to helicopter more. Oh well all 3 boys are well into adulthood and in the grand scheme of things. I was definitely one of those “go outside and play until dinner time” or “have a good time, be home by midnight and don’t get in a car with anyone drinking” type parent. I remember my doctor asked me when my oldest was in for his 6 week checkup what I hoped for him and I said “normal…I hope he is a normal well adjusted kid” and you should have seen my doctor’s jaw drop. And that’s along with Dr. Spock is how I did parenthood. I’m afraid if I read the book it will tell me everything I did wrong and I’ll be demoralized.
