How to remove citronella wax from patio?

Darn… a cat or rabbit mus have knocked over our pail of melted citronella wax. I scraped up the cooled blob, but of course we still have a big stain where it seeped into the concrete patio.

Good news - There are lots of variation of removal hints on the web.
Bad news - I can’t find any slam dunk good answers… not sure which one to try first

So I am consulting my master advisers on CC  Recommendations?

It would seem to me that you need to get wax really hot again, and then have something held up against it to "wick " the wax from the stone. I’m not sure what that would be because it needs to be able to withstand the heat that you use to melt the wax again (a heat gun would work, I think).

Or you might take a flyer on something like this. No clue about whether it would work, how much it costs, where to get it, or what happens to the stone. You’re on your own.

When we accidentally spilled wax on the rug we poured boiling water on it while vacuuming it up with a wet vac. It worked like a charm.

Thanks. The main categories of hints are 1) Heat/abosorb and 2)solvent (including products that remove motor oil from driveways and garage floors). 3) power wash

I’ll drag my feet a few more days to see if somebody has a success story. Then we will try one of the methods. If it does not work, I’ve read that waiting 2 years also works. Darn, just wish it was not such a big spotch, about 9 in x 30 in.
