I can’t figure out how to get the username of the person I want to receive my comment to show up at the beginning of my reply. I’ve logged in, I hit reply in the box of the comment from the user I want to respond to, but their name doesn’t show up at all, not in blue or anything. How do I do it please?
You have to actually type out the “@” and start typing the name; a list should pop up with names to click on (like Google predictive text) and you can click one to let it complete it for you. It should turn blue as demonstrated above.

The recipient has to have their settings set to get notifications. I don’t, for example…so you could write @thumper1 and I would never know…unless I came across the thread myself.
If you want to reply directly to that person only…click on their avatar, which will take you to their Profile page. There is a button that says “message”. Hit that, and you will be sending them a private message.
