How to score a test?

On a 61 question test I skiped 5 questions (left them blank). This self- scoring thing says that skipped questions recieve a score of 0. So when calculating my score do i subtract 5 questions from 61 to make a totaly of 56 points possible or do i just leave it at 61 total points possible? BTW questions that are answered incorrectly are -1/4 points

Forget the number of questions in the test.

Count up the correct answers, this is A

Count up the incorrect answers and divide them by four. This is B

A-B=your raw score.

so the ones i left blank… just forget about them ?

You’re not forgetting about them - the total number of possible points puts your score in context. You can forget about the skipped questions when calculating your score as (number correct) - 1/4 * (number wrong), but the test is still “out of” the original number of questions.

If you got 56 correct and left 5 blank (none incorrect) you’d have a 56 out of 61, or ~92%.
