Is this possible to do? I logged in after getting an email saying a college made a change and it only says there were changes made today, but not what they were…
Is the college that made the change the only one that sees those changes? The FAFSA remain the sames the same for the other schools?
If I delete the first listed school because she isn’t going there does the next one move up so it is the new first choice (for state aid)
(1) It’ll take several days for the change to show up. At that point, all you have to do is log on to FAFSA, and click on the button for “track corrections” (or words to that effect). If you want to know sooner, contact the college that submitted the correction.
(2) Only that college will have access to the “corrected” FAFSA. The others won’t see it.
(3) I don’t know if deleting the #1 school will cause the next one to “move up.” The order may already have been recorded. I’d contact your new #1 choice and ask.
Maybe one of the colleges on your list revised it’s COA estimate. I do not believe a college can “change” anything on my family’s FAFSA. I would love to hear from others if that is true!
The COA estimate has nothing to do with the FAFSA figures. A school can change figures on the FAFSA including income adjustments, depending on the circumstances the student is in. It could even be something as simple as a grade level adjustment that the student updated incorrectly.
