I’ve been browsing the forums, but I haven’t been able to find a distinct answer to the question. I’ve asked my teachers/counselors for recommendation letters, and I KNOW that they’re not finished yet, but is there a way to check the status of the letters? The only two functions I see are delete/resend

i second the question

I had this question too, but I just noticed that I see a status when…

Go to school forms under a specific school, Select the
teachers you want to recommend you and click save,
you should see ‘submitted’ ( in green) if it has been.

Hope that helped

Under SCHOOL FORMS: If you are on the common app you should have invited them through the common app via e-mail. When they have accessed your account using the code that common app sends them, their status will change from ‘invited’ to ‘started xx/xx/xxxx’. When they are done and have submitted their information that message will change to a green ‘submitted’. If your deadline is approaching re-ask in person and/or ‘resend’ the invitation so it will be in the top of their inbox. D’s counselor started her forms the day after inviting but didn’t submit until 2-3 weeks later, while favorite teacher worked on them offline based off emailed PDF and started and submitted on the same day (2 days before due date). Second teacher started 2 weeks after verbal ind common app invite and submitted about 1 week before deadline.

You can gently remind of deadline, and if they know you have to trust that they have their own working pace and style . . . just like all kids who are working on essays.
