How to seem different than other applicants?

When you apply for a scholarship, most people seem to say the same things as everyone else (ex. I am in ____ club, my GPA is 3.5+, I want to go to a good college, etc.). How do you make yourself sound either above the rest or different than the rest of the pack?

If you are truly different, you bring up the differences. The reason there is a “pack” is because most kids are in it. I don’t suggest fabricating things. You bring up your strong points and hope that what you have strikes the scholarship folks the right way. From what I have seen, it is the top performing “usual” that get many scholarships.
