I really want to run a forum, but I don’t have any experience and knowledge about forum…

ProBoards is a good free forum hosting thingamabob you can use, it has a lot of options etc.

Make sure you advertise your forum (in an appropriate place!), otherwise no one will come to it…

You can also download a forum software and host it yourself. Or you could code your own.

there’s plenty of free forum stuff out there with advertising etc.

if you’re willing to pay a little money you can host your own and customize it a lot more…pm me if you’re interested in taking that route…

Besides Proboards there’s also Invisionfree. However, I have friends who tried starting their own forums and quit after a couple of weeks because it was inactive and nobody was joining. Make sure you’ll have a membership base, too.

Yeah I’d definitely recommend invisionfree over proboards. Establish a good reputation at other forums and you’ll have an easier time of getting a base.

I wouldn’t suggest a free forum. They are pretty much terrible. Just invest a little (less than $10 a month) and the payoff is great.

-buy a domain - ~$8/year
-buy hosting - as low as $3/month to start out
-install forum software such as phpbb - free, may be included with hosting (that’s a good idea)
-set up forum
-advertise
-build user base
-set up advertising (only do this when/if you need to, for instance when traffic forces you to upgrade hosting.)

d4rh3v1l you are saying what I exactly want, but my problem is I don’t have any experience about the process you mentioned below.

Maybe you should familiarize yourself with the web site process before you start paying monthly fees for something you don’t know how to use.
